Implied probability is what the price says, with the bookmaker's margin still in it. Across a whole market the implied probabilities add up to more than 100%; the excess is the overround.
How it works
Decimal odds are the total return per unit staked, stake included: 2.50 returns 2.50 for every 1 staked. Fractional odds are the profit over the stake: 6/4 is 1.50 profit per 1 staked, so 2.50 decimal. American odds show the profit on 100 for a plus price (+150) or the stake needed to win 100 for a minus price (-200).
Implied probability is 1 divided by the decimal price. It still contains the bookmaker's margin, so a whole market adds up to more than 100%. To see what the market really thinks you take the margin out first, which is what our value finder does.
